Men's Golf Opens Season This Weekend in Arizona

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team opens its 2021-22 season Friday through Sunday at the Maui Jim Invitational in Scottsdale, Ariz. The tournament, hosted by Georgia State, will be held at Mirabel Golf Club and will feature one round each day on the par-70, 7,115-63yard course.

The reigning Mountain West champion Lobos will feature a lineup of Sam Choi, Matthew Watkins, Bastien Amat, Albert Boneta and Carson Herron. Brandon Shong will compete as an individual.

New Mexico is playing in the Maui Jim Invitational for the first time. This year’s field consists of Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Augusta, California, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Oregon, San Diego State, Utah and Washington, in addition to the Lobos and host Georgia State.
