ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The 2020 spring practice season opened on what anyone would describe as a perfect day in Albuquerque.  With an entirely new coaching staff and plenty of fans in the stands, day one was a small taste of what’s the come for UNM Lobo Football. For day one, the Lobos were just in helmets, with the offense in red, defense in white, and quarterbacks in black.  The two-hour practice featured was fast paced, with units moving in and out and on and off the field with precision, and crispness.

Practice Notes:  Javohn Jones, who went through senior day last season against Wyoming, is expected to be granted a medical redshirt and earn a sixth season of eligibility.  He was in with the rehab group at practice … All four quarterbacks practiced and threw, although Brandt Hughes was limited as he recovers from his postseason surgery … punter Tyson Dyer won’t practice with the punting unit, but he still was able to handle his normal holding duties … Elijah Lilly, who missed the final nine games of the season last year and redshirted, made an incredible touchdown grab during one-on-ones … Brandon Burton had a pick-six during the same drills.
