With New Mexico, Hickman oversees all facets of roster management for the program, and he works hand-in-hand with the director of scouting in planning recruiting visits and roster management. He serves as a liaison with many of Lobo Football’s corporate partners for recruiting events.

He had two stints at BYU, serving as director of operations and director of player development and high school relations from 2006-15, and as director of operations and director of recruiting from 2022-23. Hickman in his most recent time with BYU, oversaw many of the operation line items for budgeting and recruiting, including setting up visits and working with gift-in-kind partners for weekend visits.

His first stint with BYU coincided with Bronco Mendenhall becoming the head coach at BYU, and he served that entire time as director of operations and director of player development. As such he oversaw roster management and worked with the operations director on recruiting visits as well as overseeing many facets of Virginia’s community service programs.

Hickman got his start in college athletics administration in 2002, starting a four-year run at Boise State in facility management and operations, helping Boise State host several NCAA events.
