NEW MEXICO: A returning defensive back who gained experience on special teams as well as on defense in 2012 … has very good speed … working in the offseason in 2013 to build up his lower body strength to match his upper body … has the ability to close on the football … loves playing the game and shows an infectious enthusiasm when he steps onto the field.

2012 (TRUE FRESHMAN): Appeared in six games on special teams and on defense … finished with five tackles on the season, all solos.

HIGH SCHOOL: A second-team All-District selection his senior year for Thurgood Marshall High School and coach James Williams…recorded more than 30 tackles with two interceptions in 2011…an All-Greater Houston honoree as a junior…a three-year letterman in both football and track and field…Marshall won the state championship when Jackson was a sophomore…timed at 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash…made the Texas state regional finals in the 300-meter hurdles and the four-by-400 meter relay.

PERSONAL: Born July 21, 1994 in Houston, Texas…full name is Rashad Rameese Jackson…parents are Reginald and Carla Jackson…his twin brother Vershad also is a Lobo…cousin Arist Wright was a linebacker at University of Kansas…another cousin, Cedric Washington was a wide receiver at the University of Arkansas…with brother Vershad, will comprise the first set of Lobo twins to play for the Lobos since Donny and Danny Silver from 1968-69…wants to major in computer science.
