High School: A second-team All-District 2-5A selection his senior season at quarterback for La Cueva High School and Bears coach Ed Lucero in 2011 … earned Academic All-State honors in 2011 … a second-team all-district safety in 2010 … lettered three years in football … also lettered four years in track and field and was a member of the 2011 state championship track and field team.
