SOPHOMORE (2018): Made 24 appearances out of the bullpen (second most on the team) and had two starts … Went 3-1 in 50 innings pitched and recorded 42 strikeouts … Finished season with an 8.28 ERA.
FRESHMAN (2017): Went 1-1 with a save and a 6.75 ERA in 20 appearances (third on the team) and 25.1 innings pitched … recorded 23 strikeouts … Had an impressive collegiate debut against Binghamton on Feb. 18, striking out three in an inning of scoreless relief … Picked up first collegiate win at Air Force on March 5 … Collected first career save at San Diego State on April 29.
PERSONAL: Born Oct. 3, 1997 to Mike Gillespie and Sharon Walton … Was a two-time all-state player at Sandia High School in Albuquerque … Helped the Matadors win the 2015 Metro City Championship … Went 4-1 with a 0.83 ERA his senior season … Picked up a win in the Bob Ogas North/South All-Star Classic, giving up no runs on one hit with six strikeouts in five innings of work to help the North beat the South 5-0.
