
NEW MEXICO: Talented north-south runner whose 2012 season was limited to two games because of a knee injury … has a good balance of speed and power between the tackles … should be fully recovered for 2013 spring practice … emerged as the team’s starting running back late in 2011 and finished second on the team in rushing … moved from wide receiver to running back during the 2010 season … limited action due to injuries, but has shown flashes of being a contributor, especially during spring ball … suffered a knee injury during the spring of 2010 and missed most of the regular season … was clocked at 4.5 in the 40 in high school.
2013 (SENIOR): Appeared in four games as a senior, rushing for 63 yards on 13 carries … rushed for a season-high 34 yards and his only touchdown of the season against New Mexico State on Oct. 5 … finished his career with 410 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 108 carries … also caught 11 passes for 40 yards as a Lobo … appeared in 18 games in his career.
2012 (JUNIOR): Played in two games before suffering a knee injury that ultimately cost him the rest of the season … only carried the ball once against Texas Tech but made it count as he scored his second touchdown of the year on a two-yard run with 13:41 remaining in the second quarter … did not play vs.. Texas due to a knee injury … led the Lobos with 103 yards on 13 carries vs. Southern … it was the first 100-yard game of his career … became UNM’s first 100-yard rusher since Desmond Dennis ran for 133 on Nov. 21, 2009 … was the only Lobo with multiple catches vs.. Southern, pulling down two for four yards.
2011 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 10 games, starting four and took on a more significant role as the season went on…four consective starts came during weeks 8-11 … finished second on the team with 242 rushing yards on 81 carries (a 3.0 yard-per-carry average) with three touchdowns … also had nine receptions for 36 yards…had 47 yards on 12 carries and two TDs during the 21-14 win over UNLV in week 10 … had a career-high 54 rushing yards on 14 carries in week eight against Air Force … toted the ball a career-high 17 times for 51 yards in week seven at TCU … scored his first career TD against New Mexico State in week five and finished with three carries for 25 yards.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Oak Ridge (Tenn.) High School … speedy, versatile athlete who played mostly running back and defensive back in high school … a standout point guard for the Oak Ridge basketball team earlier in his career before breaking through on the football field … averaged 5.1 yards per carry as a senior (444 yards) and scored nine rushing touchdowns in his first year as the starting tailback for the class 5A Wildcats … also an outstanding receiving threat throughout his career, racking up 50 catches for 802 yards (16.0 average), along with seven touchdowns in his last three seasons … scored on an 82-yard kickoff return and also returned a punt 54 yards for a touchdown in a win against Fulton High School his senior year.
