NEW MEXICO: Veteran offensive guard who will vie for a starting job in the fall of 2013 … has a massive upper body with great size and leverage and is working to improve his lower-body movement … found a home as a starter for seven gamesat left guard in 2011 … lost 85 pounds between his junior and senior seasons at DeMatha High School … weighed 415 as a junior, but implemented a rigorous daily regimen to lose weight before his senior season: 1 hour on a stationary bike, 30 minutes on a treadmill, 1 hour on an elliptical machine, followed by weightlifting, and a much better diet … actually participated in the school’s “Biggest Loser” contest.2013 (SENIOR): Appeared in all 12 games and started five for an offensive line that paved the way for the No. 4 rushing attack in the nation (308.8 ypg) … finished the season with 56 knockdown blocks … had a fantastic game in the season opener vs. UTSA on Aug. 31 as he had a team-high 19 knockdown blocks in 71 snaps … despite seeing limited action against New Mexico State on Oct. 5 he still recorded five knockdown blocks as UNM rushed for a season-high 541 yards … had nine knockdown blocks against Colorado State on Nov. 16 … finished the season with nine knockdown blocks at Boise State on Nov. 30 … played in 44 games in his Lobo career including 17 starts.

2012 (JUNIOR): Played in 12 games with four starts at right guard … participated in a total of 298 snaps with a 98 percent assignment grade … helped the Lobos average 301.3 yards per game to rank fifth in the nation. 2011 (SOPHOMORE): Made his first career start against No. 13 Arkansas in week two and started seven straight games…also served as part of the back-wall protection on the punt team. 2010 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Played in 10 games as a reserve guard and was also used on special teams…appeared in 134 plays.

HIGH SCHOOL: One of two 2009 signees from DeMatha HS in Washington, D.C., along with McPhearson…first team all-metro, first all-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and second team all-county offensive guard as a senior…played for head coach Bill McGregor…the Stags won WCAC titles in 2006, `07 and `08.
