Men’s Golf Travels to South Carolina for Hootie at Bulls Bay

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team returns to action this weekend when it travels to South Carolina for the Hootie at Bulls Bay. The event, hosted by South Carolina at the 7,266-yard, par-72 Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, will run Sunday-Tuesday.

The tournament will consist of one round per day, from Sunday to Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.

The event consists of 15 teams, including five in the top 40 of the national rankings. The Lobos, at No. 19 in the nation, are the second-highest ranked in the field, behind East Tennessee State No. 16. No. 33 Purdue, No. 35 Missouri and No. 37 LSU, along with host South Carolina, Charleston, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Kent State, Kentucky, Marquette, NC State, Toledo and West Virginia round out the field.

The Lobos will feature a lineup of Bastien Amat, Albert Boneta, Carson Herron, Matthew Watkins, and  Connor Adams, Amat, Boneta, Herron and Adams are all coming off top-15 finishes last week at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate.

The Lobos are coming off a second place finish at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate in Tucson last week, their fifth top-three finish in nine events this season. New Mexico has two victories this year, having won the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in the fall and the NIT to open the spring schedule.
