Seven Named CSC Academic All-District for Football

by Frank Mercogliano

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Seven Lobos, Dimitri Johnson, Wyatt McClour, Bryce Santana, Hunter Rappola, Ryan Davis, Andrew Erickson, and Aaron Rodriguez, were all selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, and all will have an opportunity to now earn Academic All-America honors.

In order to be selected, a player must be nominated and have a 3.5 grade point average or better while playing in at least 90% of all contests, or starting 66% of all contests.  This is the first such honor for all seven student-athletes.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 23, 2024.
