Rodriguez Named to Ray's 8 List for Hawai'i Game

AUGUSTA, Ga. — After a record setting night punting the football, Aaron Rodriguez was named to Ray’s 8 for the week ending October 21.

Rodriguez was only called upon three times, all in the second half of UNM’s 42-21 win over Hawai’i, but he made his presence known.  He banged two 60-yard punts, one of which was muffed for a -15 yard return (and nearly a safety).  He had two punts pinned inside the 20 as well.  Overall, Rodriguez averaged a career-best 53.7 yards per punt, and he nette a career-high 58.7 yards per punt.

His night brought his season average up to 43.9 yards per punt, just off his 2022 pace of 44.2 yards per punt.  It marked the fifth time in his career Rodriguez has been named to the Ray’s 8 List.
