Lobos Have Eight Games on National TV, Four Moved to Friday
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Mountain West has announced the 2022 national television schedule, and the Lobos will have eight games on national television, six on CBS Sports Network and two on the FOX family of networks. In announcing the schedule, four Lobo games have been moved off Saturday, two at home, and two on the road.
Additionally, UNM’s game at LSU on September 24th was announced by the SEC with a kick time of 5:30 pm Mountain Time with the game being broadcast on ESPN+ and SEC+.
New Mexico’s first home conference game against Boise State has been moved to Friday, September 9 at University Stadium and it will kick-off at 7 pm Mountain Time. That game is one of three-straight at home to start the season. UNM’s home finale against San Diego State has also been moved to Friday night, November 18. That kickoff time will be announced at a later date.
The two road games that were moved were the Week 5 matchup at UNLV in UNM’s first visit to Allegiant Stadium. The Lobos will now play that game on Friday, September 30 at 8 p.m. Lobo and 9 p.m. Mountain Time, giving UNM five games in the month of September.
UNM’s season finale at Colorado State has now been moved to Black Friday as UNM and CSU will play on Friday, November 25 at 1:30 p.m., the day after Thanksgiving. It marks the third straight season that UNM’s Thanksgiving Week game has been moved off Saturday. In 2020, UNM traveled to Utah State for a Thanksgiving night matchup, and last year the Lobos and Utah State played at University Stadium on Black Friday.
UNM’s six game on CBS Sports Network include the previously mentioned games with Boise State, UNLV and Colorado State, along with games at Utah State and Air Force (both kicking off at 1:30 p.m. and a home game with Wyoming with will have a 5 p.m. kick-off. UNM was selected twice for games on FOX’s networks, with the San Diego State game on FS1, and the home game against Fresno State on either FS1, FS2 or FOX. Both of those game times will be announced at a later date.
