ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team opens a three-game homestand on Friday night when it hosts Northern New Mexico in a non-conference matchup. Tipoff at The Pit is 7:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network and the Lobo Radio Network.

For Friday night’s game against Northern New Mexico, fans should use tickets and parking passes dated Jan. 15 (San Diego State) for admission.

Fans attending the game are reminded of the health and safety protocols at The Pit. Fans 12 and over must show proof of vaccination or show proof of a negative COVID test in order to enter the arena. Complete information on the policy is available at GoLobos.com/safe.

The Lobos (9-14, 2-8) are coming off a 91-77 victory at Air Force on Saturday, their first Mountain West road win of the season. Jaelen House scored 42 points, the most by a Lobo in a game since Kendall Williams had 46 points at Colorado State in 2013. Jamal Mashburn, Jr. had his 10th 20-point game of the season in the win over the Falcons.

Northern New Mexico has a 12-3 record against fellow NAIA competition this season, having lost all six matchups with NCAA teams. The Eagles suffered defeats to Division I teams UTEP, New Mexico State and Northern Colorado, along with Division II teams New Mexico Highlands (twice) and Eastern New Mexico.

The Lobos and Eagles have played once before in the regular season, the season-opener in 2017-18. New Mexico won that matchup 147-76, setting school records for points in a game and margin of victory.

The Lobos will continue the homestand next week with home games against Wyoming on Tuesday and Colorado State on Thursday.
