New Mexico to Host Air Force at HODGETOWN Stadium in Amarillo, Texas
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico baseball team will host its first home conference series against Air Force at HODGETOWN Stadium, home of the Amarillo Sod Poodles, in Amarillo, Texas, the UNM Athletic Department announced Friday. The three-game series is set to take place February 27-28.
Due to current state regulations regarding COVID-19, the Lobos are not able to start their home season at the Santa Ana Star Field and will host its first home series in Amarillo, Texas instead. The series will be the first-ever college series hosted at HODGETOWN Stadium.
The series will open with a doubleheader on Feb. 27 at Noon MT (1 p.m. CT), with the second game of the series taking place approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Gates will open at 11 a.m. MT (Noon CT) on Saturday.
The series concludes with a single game on Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. MT (Noon CT), with gates opening at 10 a.m. MT (11 a.m. CT).
A limited number of tickets will be sold for each game, and HODGETOWN will operate at a reduced capacity to ensure guests have the space they need to remain socially distant.
Per Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order on July 2, face coverings are required for individuals age 10 and older in public areas. Attendees will be required to wear masks at HODGETOWN when entering, exiting and moving around the ballpark. Attendees may remove masks when sitting in their ticketed seats or area. Assigned seating will be enforced.
