MW slate for women’s basketball announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –  The Mountain West has announced the full slate of women’s basketball league games for the 2019-20 season. For the seventh-straight year, the league schedule will utilize an 18-game format that will allow each institution to play nine home games. In addition to the schedule announcement, the MW has also announced plans to facilitate a #MWTakeover for the second-straight year.
 OFFICIAL MOUNTAIN WEST RELEASE

During #MWTakeover, MW institutions will have access to the Mountain West Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts for a single day. They will have the ability to broadcast to those watching what a day-in-the-life of a student-athlete is like at their institution. Fans are encouraged to watch, like and tweet along as the league’s women’s basketball teams invite you into their community.

In terms of the schedule, the Lobos’ conference opener will be on the road at Boise State on Wednesday, December 4. The Broncos are the defending MW Regular Season and Tournament Champions. Later that week, the Lobos will have the first MW home game of the season as they will play host to Wyoming on Saturday, December 7. The Cowgirls finished last season third in the MW and were one game back of the Lobos, making the first two league games highly-anticipated.

Later in the season, the Lobos will make a return trip to Wyoming (Saturday, February 8) while Boise State will play in Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit for the first time since the 2017-18 season (Saturday, February 22).

The Lobos are also set to play home-and-home games with San Jose State, Fresno State, Air Force, UNLV, Nevada, and San Diego State. Only appearing on the schedule once this conference season will be Colorado State and Utah State.
