Chris Crooks

position

Video Coordinator

Chris Crooks is entering his seventh year with The University of New Mexico as the team’s Video Coordinator.  Crooks handles a staff that is vital for the UNM Coaching staff.

Crooks’ main visibility is shooting game and practice footage but his job duties go well beyond that.  Crooks and his staff cut game and practice film and code everything into a complex computer system that is sortable by team, down, distance, type of play, types of offense or defense, and player number.  His staff also breaks down opposing game film the same way, and then uploads all to tablets for the coaching staff to have immediate film access for study and breakdown.

For his efforts, the Collegiate Sports Video Association named Crooks the 2014-2015 Mountain West Conference Video Coordinator of the Year.
A veteran of the industry, Crooks came to UNM from the University of Southern Mississippi.  He has also served as an intern with the Arizona Cardinals and as Assistant Director of Video Services at UConn.

Crooks graduated from Sacramento State in 2006 with a degree in video production.  He and his wife Amy have three children, Caleb, Sadie and Bryce.
