
Malik Whitehead joined the Lobo family in January 2025 and serves as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant. He came to UNM after serving in the same capacity at the University of Idaho.
With UNM, Whitehead assists the program in all manners of strength and conditioning, with an emphasis on injury rehabilitation and nutrition.
Whitehead, a native of Streamwood, Illinois, came to UNM from Idaho, where he worked under the guidance of head coach Jason Eck. Whitehead was a student-athlete at Aurora University, where he played both football and ran track & field. He was twice named NACC Scholar-Athlete.
Whitehead graduated in 2023 with a degree in exercise science.
