Josh Clifford joined the Lobo Football program in January of 2024, and he serves as an offensive graduate assistant, working mostly with the receivers. He comes to New Mexico after spending the past year with Wake Forest on a coaching and recruting internship.

This will be Clifford’s first year working with Bronco Mendenhall, although he played for Mendenhall at Virginia.

With New Mexico, Clifford will serve as a graduate assistant, working on practice planning, analytics and pregame scouting along with recruiting and on-the-field coaching.

At Wake Forest, Clifford served a coaching and recruiting internship, learning all facets of Division I Power Conference football from a coaching and recruiting perspective, including film sessions, recruitingment planning and roster management.

Clifford played five years at Virginia as a wide receiver, getting into seven games over his final three seasons.

The native of Salem, Virginia, Clifford earned a bachelor’s in arts from UVA in 2022, and a master’s in educational psychology in 2023. Along with playing football at UVA, Clifford was actively involved with Athletes in Action.
