Gilgan begins his second season as an offensive graduate assistant after spending the past two years at his alma mater of Willamette in Salem, Oregon.

With the Bearcats Gilgan spent 2013 as a receivers coach and special teams coordinator, and in 2011-12 he served as a linebackers coach as well as video coordinator. In his time at Willamette he coached 12 All-Northwest Conference picks including four first team selections. Last year the Willamette offense ranked 16th nationally at 41.1 points per game and 22nd nationally with 472 yards per game.

In addition, he coached the NWC’s Special Teams Player of the Year Tyson Giza as Willamette’s kickoff return team average 24.4 yards per return (16th in NCAA III) along with three touchdowns.

After graduating from Willamette in 2010, Gilgan spent time at Quincy University as a defensive backs coach. He played four years at Willamette, playing in all 40 games and was a team captain and first team All-NWC as a defensive back in 2009 as the Bearcats went 19-3 over his final two seasons, ranking as high as No. 4.

Gilgan most recently was accepted in to the NCAA-NFL Summit: Coaches Academy, one of only 30 to enter the program in 2014.

Along with a B.A in History from Willamette in 2010, Lukkes earned a master’s in Human Performance & Sport Management in 2013 from Souther Mississippi.  His sister is the head softball coach at Pacific in Oregon.
