Shannon Dooley officially became a full-time member of the department in December of 2019 when she was named as student eligibility specialist.  However, her time at UNM actually began in February of 2018 when she joined as an assistant learning specialist.

In her current role, Dooley works with football and softball and both programs turned in record GPAs in her first year with the teams.  As an assistant learning strategist, Dooley worked closely with individual student-athletes on course management, study skills and learning strategies.  She also spent several months working with football student-athletes as an advising intern, and she helped track graduation progress for football and women’s golf.

Dooley also spent half a year working in the communications office handling football game day duties, press releases and publicity.  She worked closely with the swimming and diving team.

Shannon is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a degree in sociology in 2016, and she working on her master’s in business administration from UNM.  At NMSU, she was a member of the equestrian team, and served as an assistant coach for one year. Dooley is a native of New Hampshire and enjoys riding her horse, “Eddie” in her spare time.
