Corey Mason officially joined the University of New Mexico athletic department in 2018 as a graduate assistant, and was promoted to assistant athletic performance coach in 2019.  He currently oversees all aspects of the athletic performance program for women’s soccer, men’s tennis and track and field.

An enthusiastic and high-energy coach, Mason quickly made a name for himself working with both Lobo tennis programs, immediately helping UNM to a division title on the women’s side and a conference title on the men’s side.  His combination of high energy and engaging workouts have quickly made him a favorite of Lobo student-athletes and coaches.

Prior to joining UNM as an intern in May of 2018, Mason served an internship at the University of Portland, where he worked with a number of programs with the Pilots.  He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and he is licensed by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).  He earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and exercise science from Pacific University (Oregon) in 2018, and he is currently working on a master’s degree at UNM.
