Corey DeBarbrie was named athletic trainer for the University of New Mexico men’s basketball program in the summer of 2015. He oversees all medical and injury needs of the program and maintains all medical records while acting as the team liaison with the Lobo Sports Medicine physicians.
DeBarbrie joined the Lobos after a three-year stint as an assistant athletic trainer at San Diego State University. He worked as the primary athletic trainer for the Aztecs’ volleyball and softball teams while assisting with the football and men’s basketball programs as well.
Prior to San Diego State, the Ohio native spent three years as an athletic training intern with the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and the Columbus Crew of the MLS.
DeBarbie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Otterbein University (Ohio). He also holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Science from California University of Pennsylvania.
