Cross Country (Junior): In her debut season with the Lobos, Simpson opened with a 20th-place finish at the Cowboy Jamboree 6K (21:30.0) against a nationally competitive field … clocked 21:01.2 at Wisconsin Pre-Nationals to place 154th overall … placed 31st at the Mountain West Championships (21:54.9) before earning an individual berth to the NCAA Championships, where she produced her fastest 6K of the season — 20:39.8 — to place 118th in the nation as the Lobos’ fifth and final point-scorer … the UNM women placed seventh in the nation in the team score.
Indoor Track & Field (Junior): Opened the track season at the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, running 16:19.07 in the 5,000 meters.
Outdoor Track & Field (Junior): Raced primarily in the 1,500 meters, claiming a win at the Don Kirby Tailwind Twilight (4:29.24 / 4:23.08 converted) and lowering her raw best to 4:23.23 at the Desert Heat Classic … Also competed in the 5,000 meters, placing 16th at the Mountain West Championships (16:40.55).
