LOBO CAREER NOTES – Appeared in 147 games, including making 110 starts…finished with 63 hits, 46 runs scored, 20 runs driven in and a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen bases…defensively, recorded 86 putouts and 10 assists…committed just five errors over four years…had nine multi-hit games in her career — the last coming against Bradley in early March 2013 as she went 2-for-2 at the plate and scored one run…four times during her career she had multiple RBI in a single contest — the last coming against UNLV in May 2012…her competitiveness and her versatility on offense made her a valuable teammate, according to her coaches and teammates…a double major in communication and psychology, Sheryl is a two-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree and a 2011-12 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Award recipient…twice recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as an All-America Scholar Athlete.

SENIOR YEAR (2013) – Played in 43 games and made 35 starts…recorded 15 hits and scored 12 runs…had 23 putouts and five assists…had three multi-hit games…tied for second on the team for most sacrifice bunts with five.

JUNIOR YEAR (2012) – Started 43 games and made 48 appearances, splitting time as the Lobos’ designated player and left fielder…had 32 hits, including five doubles…scored 15 runs and drove in 12…committed just one error all season…named to the Spring 2012 Academic All-Mountain West team…named a 2011-12 Mountain West Scholar Athlete…a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athlete.

SOPHOMORE YEAR (2011)-Started 17 games in 29 appearances as an outfielder for the Lobos…hit .154 on six hits in 39 at-bats…scored 12 runs and had three RBIs…a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athlete.

FRESHMAN YEAR (2010)-Started in 15 games out of 27 games played as a freshman for the Lobos…hit .238 with 10 hits in 42 at-bats in her first collegiate season…scored seven runs, had four RBIs, two doubles, and five stolen bases.

HIGH SCHOOL– Played high school softball under Cyndi Fregoni at Notre Dame HS in San Jose, Calif. …team was part of the West Bay Athletic League…first team all-league (2 years)…second team all-league (2 years)…team MVP and captain (3 years).
