Prior to UNM: Gaines played two seasons for the Florida A&M Rattlers, combining to go 17-1 in singles and doubles in her two years … was heavily decorated for the Rattlers as she led the team to the 2023 SWAC Tournament championship and a berth in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, and a 2024 regular season shared title … she twice in 2024 was named the SWAC Player of the week, and she was named First Team All-SWAC at No. 1 singles in both 2023 and 2024 … she also was a member of the 2023 and 2024 All-SWAC Tournament Team.
