Performed as the team’s undisputed ace throughout the season, leading the team at every meet in which he competed and never finishing out of the top-10 at any meet … Debuted at the Notre Dame Invitational, touring the five-mile course in 24:22.3 to place second overall … Claimed seventh overall at the Wisconsin Invitational, finishing the 8-kilometer course in 23:30 … Posted a runner-up finish at the Mountain West Championships in 24:21.40 … Tallied a sixth-place showing at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships, covering the 10 kilometers in 29:46.1 … Nabbed his second straight All-American nod in cross country at the NCAA Championships with his 10th-place finish of 30:17.2.
2014 Indoors: Arguably one of New Mexico best distance runner in program history, he competed at four meets in his final season, including the UNM- and Albuquerque-hosted NCAA Championships … Opened in the mile at the New Mexico Team Invitational, where he placed third with a personal-record time of 4:01.01* … First action in the 5000-meter run came at the Husky Classic, where he finished third overall with a time of 13:42.50 … Won the 3000 and the 5000 at the Mountain West Indoor Championships, as he posted times of 8:12.35* and 14:37.42*, respectively … Earned All-American honors in the 5000 at the NCAA Championships as he registered the school-record time of 13:34.54* to place sixth in the nation.
2014 Outdoors: Ran at five meets, splitting time between the 5000 and the 10000 … Opened the season at the Mt. SAC Relays with a third-place time of 13:33.28 in the 5000 … Raced his first 10K at the Payton Jordan Invitational, as he finished 22nd in his section with a time of 28:59.63 … Similar to his double indoors, won both the 5000 and the 10000 at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships with times of 14:00.78* and 29:35.40*, respectively … Advanced to the NCAA West Preliminary Round in both long-distance events, placing eighth in the 5000 (13:52.80) and ninth in the 10000 (29:35.83) and earning a bid to the nation finals in the 10000 … At the NCAA Championships, placed 15th in the 10K with a time of 29:48.64 … Earned Academic All-America of the Year honors in track & field/cross country from the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America as the top student-athlete in all of Division I.

2013 Indoors: Competed at five meets for the Lobos, including the NCAA Championships … Opened with a sixth-place mile time of 4:03.47* at the New Mexico Invitational … Broke the school record in the 5000 with a 13:40.39 time at the Husky Classic, finishing sixth overall … Picked up three All-Mountain West nods at the conference championships, winning both the 3000 (8:14.66) and 5000 (14:30.30) and placing third in the mile (4:10.91) … Earned All-American status in the 5K at the NCAA Championships as he placed eighth with a time of 13:46.44.
2013 Outdoors: Ran at five meets outdoors, again bringing home multiple honors … Kicked off the season at the Bryan Clay Invitation with a runner-up mark of 3:44.19 in the 1500 … Smashed the school record in the outdoor 5000 with a stellar run of 13:29.94 at the Payton Jordan Invitational … Claimed two conference titles at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships, winning the both the 5000 (14:30.00) and 10000 (30:27.71) … Qualified to the NCAA West Preliminary championships, placing sixth in the 5K with a 14:12.27 clocking … Advanced on the NCAA Championships, earning his third All-American plaudit of 2012-13 (to go along with cross-country and indoor track) with a seventh-place run of 13:55.55.
