Ran Varsity cross country and Track her freshman year (2007) at Highland Park in which she set the home course record while earning all conference honors in both sports … her team was both conference and regional champions and she set the indoor 2-mile record and helped the Giants to the indoor conference and regional championship where they placed first overall … ran the 4×800, mile, 2-mile, and 300-meter hurdles … played varsity soccer her sophomore and junior year for Highland Park and was team captain both years … played club for the Chicago Wind from 1999-2007 was team captain each year … she also played for Elm Grove Academy in Milwaukee, Wisc. and the KUFC Knockouts in Elgin, Ill.

Full name is Dannah Eve Lakin … born on Sept. 23, 1991, in Highland Park, Ill. … daughter of Mitch and Patti Lakin … her grandfather, Ronald Lakin, played basketball at DePaul (1955-58) and a cousin, Scott Lakin, will be a sophomore on the Northwestern men’s soccer team this fall … is majoring in criminology.
