Outdoor Track & Field (Freshman): Carried his standout indoor form into his first collegiate outdoor season, opening with a win in the 1,500 meters at the New Mexico Spring Invitational (3:43.32) before lowering his time to 3:41.47 at the Bryan Clay Invitational …  clocked 13:25.06 in the 5,000m at the Stanford Invitational, a performance that moved him up to No. 3 on the UNM all-time list … At Mountain West Championships, Kiprotich claimed his second conference title of the year in the 1,500 meters (3:41.05) and added a fifth-place finish in the 5,000 meters (13:40.93) … closed his debut outdoor campaign by advancing to the NCAA West First Round in the 5,000m, running 13:41.38 to place 15th in his heat and narrowly miss a spot at nationals.

Indoor Track & Field (Freshman): Opened with a 7:56.26 at the Boston Opener on Dec. 7, placing 33rd overall … Earned MW Athlete & Freshman of the Week honors for that performance … Followed up with a program record in the Mile at the MLK Invite on Jan. 25, crossing in 3:58.60 for a 3:53.40 conversion that stands as a new UNM program record … One of only seven athletes in collegiate history to dip under the four-minute mark at altitude … Earned his second MW Athlete & Freshman of the Week awards the following Tuesday … went on to win his first MW title in the 1,500m at MW Indoor Championships (4:01.78) … Qualified for NCAA Indoor Championships in the Mile, finishing 14th overall to earn Second Team All-American honors.

Cross Country (Freshman): USTFCCCA First Team All-American …. All-MW First Team … MW Freshman of the Week (10/22) … Opened his collegiate career with an 11th-place finish at the OSU Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 28 (23:58.0) … Finished 26th at Wisconsin Pre-Nats on Oct. 19 (23:15.7) … Finished third as the Lobo men went 1-5 at MW Championships on Nov. 1 (23:52.6) … Finished 16th at Mountain Regionals in his first collegiate 10K (29:40.3) before shaving almost 18 seconds off that time at NCAA Championships to finish 35th (29:22.6) and earn First Team All-American honors.
