Senior (2013): Became just the third Lobo men’s Alpiner and the sixth Lobo skier in program history to earn national honors all four years of their collegiate career as he earned First Team All-America for a fourth-place finish in the giant slalom and Second Team All-America honors for tying for eighth in the slalom at the 2013 NCAA Championships…a six-time All-American: 2010 (8th SL), 2011 (5th GS), 2012 (10th in GS | 3rd SL) and 2013 (4th GS | T8th SL)…finished the season with two first place and seven top-5 finishes in 2013…won the giant slalom and was the runner-up in the slalom at the 2013 RMISA Championships/NCAA West Regionals…named First Team All-RMISA…named UNM’s men’s Alpine team MVP.

Junior (2012): Earned All-American honors for the third-consecutive season by placing 10th in the giant slalom and third in the slalom at the NCAA Championships, March 7-10…All-RMISA honoree…recipient of the Ben Abruzzo Scholarship Award…finished fifth in the slalom at the Seawolf Invitational on Feb. 11…placed ninth in the giant slalom at the Alaska Anchorage Invitational on Feb. 8…had a first-place finish in the slalom at the NCAA West Regional on Feb. 25…finished sixth in the slalom at the NCAA Qualifier meet on Feb. 22….earned the University of New Mexico’s L.F. “Tow” Diehm Inspirational Award.

Sophomore (2011): Earned All-American honors after placing fifth in the giant slalom at the NCAA championships (March 12)…finished fourth in the slalom and eighth in the giant slalom at the RMISA/2011 NCAA West Region Championship (Feb. 26)…named Team MVP for Alpine men.

Freshman (2010):
Earned All-American honors after placing eighth in the Slalom at the NCAA championships…picked up a 10th-place finish at the Nevada Invitational in the Slalom…placed sixth in the slalom at the Jade Enterprises/New Mexico Invitational…named UNM men’s Alpine team MVP.

Prior to UNM: Trained in Winter Park, Colo. to push his training after competing for Team Duluth in the Midwest…graduated from Middle Park High School in Granby, Colo.,…competed throughout the western United States in NorAm Cup and FiS races.

Personal: Born March 8, 1990, in Ashland, Wisc.,…Son of Jerry and Peggy Acosta…has a brother, Alex…plans to major in environmental science…collects hats and plays guitar.
