2018-19 (Redshirt Senior Season)
*Went 4-6 in singles and 3-3 in doubles in the Fall.
*Went 2-2 at the Arizona Invitational, advancing the consolation finals.
*Beat Arizona’s Jared Horwood in a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) thriller to get to the backdraw final.
*Played doubles with both Nicolas Prieto and Karlo Divkovic.
*Teamed with Prieto to win the backdraw doubles title at the Arizona Invitational, beating Boise State’s Simon Stenslund and Maximillen Blancaneaux 7-6 (7-4).
2017-18 (Redshirt Junior Season)
*Went 5-5 in singles play and 4-2 in doubles.
*Opened the year 5-2, with three wins in his flight at the Lobo Invitational, going 3-1 to come in second.
*Lost a pair of close matches in the Spring playing at No. 6, including a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) decision in his Spring opener.
*Teamed in doubles with Jorge Escutia to go 4-0 and win the Lobo Invitational Flight 2 doubles grid.
*Was paired in the Spring with Ricky Hernandez Tong and had a 6-5, 40-love lead against Nebraska Omaha when the match was stopped.
*Named Mountain West All-Academic and a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
2016-17 (Redshirt Sophomore Season)
*Went 3-2 in singles and 5-1 in doubles play.
*Named Mountain West All-Academic and a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
2015-16 (Redshirt Freshman Season)
*Went 7-15 in singles, including a 6-7 mark in Fall play, where he made his biggest contributions.
*Opened his career 6-4 in singles, including three wins at the Arizona Invitational.
*Went 5-13 in doubles, but was 2-1 in the Spring at No. 2 doubles.
*Tran went 2-2 with Bart Van Leijsen, 2-1 in the Spring.
*Mostly teamed with Sean Baklini.
*Named Mountain West All-Academic and a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
2014-15 (Redshirt)
Tran redshirted the 2014-15 season.
Prior to UNM
*A graduate of La Cueva HS in Albuquerque, N.M. in 2014.
*Played tennis all four years at La Cueva under head coach Dick Johnson.
*Tran is a four-star recruit who brings a lot of experience to court.
*A top-50 US Junior and has been ranked as high as No. 28 in junior rankings.
*Was team captain at La Cueva where he earned two 5A state championship titles in singles and one in doubles.
*A member of the La Cueva HS National Honors Society, National English Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society.
Personal
*The son of Anton Tran and Sophie Pham.
*Majoring in biology.
*When he’s not playing tennis he enjoys the beach, hiking, watching the sunrise, playing video games, and hanging out with friends.
