SPIRIT PROGRAM – PROGRAM INFORMATION
The Lobo Spirit Program includes the Cheerleading Team, Dance Team, and the iconic Lobo Louie and Lucy mascots. Together, these groups support the traditions and mission of the University of New Mexico while representing the Lobos at men’s and women’s NCAA athletic events, campus initiatives, and community appearances.
In partnership with UNM Main Campus, the UNM Athletics Department, and UNM Athletics Marketing, the Spirit Program has opportunities to perform in the local community, attend promotional events, and outreach opportunities throughout the Albuquerque community. The program is recognized across Lobo Nation for its energy, engagement, and traditions, including the well-known chant, “Everyone’s a Lobo — Woof, Woof, Woof!”
Beyond performance, Spirit Program members contribute to campus life and community connection through service, outreach, and leadership, serving as visible ambassadors of the University of New Mexico and positive examples for future Lobos.
