WILMINGTON, N.C. –– The New Mexico men’s golf team continue play at The Williams Cup on Monday with the second round at Eagle Point Golf Club. The Lobos shot 13-over during the second 18 holes to remain in 13th place among the elite field.
A trio of top-10 teams, Arizona State, host North Carolina and Auburn, are the only three teams under par through 36 holes. The Sun Devils lead at 7-under, with the Tar Heels at 5-under and the Tigers at 4-under.
Mesa Falleur shot the low round of the day for the Lobos on Monday, carding an even par 72. He is at 9-over for the tournament overall. Carson Herron is UNM’s top individual through 36 holes, at 8-over, after posting a second-round 74. Clark Sonnenberg and David Davila are also at 9-over through 36 holes, while Alvaro Portillo rounds out the lineup at 14-over.
The Williams Cup concludes Tuesday at Eagle Point Golf Club.
