Weekend Tennis Recap - Tallakson Leads Way In Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. — Avery Tallakson led the way at the Wildcat Invitational, finishing second in the Delta Draw to highlight UNM’s opening weekend of tennis at the University of Arizona.

Tallakson won his opening two matches, defeating Jay Fairclough of Gonzaga and Jakub Pracher of Northern Arizona before falling to homestanding Inaki Cabrera-Bello of Arizona in three sets.  Along with Tallakson, Daniil Kakhnuik went 2-1 in the Bravo Draw in his first matches in nearly a year after an injury in 2023-24.

Overall, the Lobo of Tallakson, Kakhniuk and freshmen Conor Dila and Phillip Bosin went 6-6 in singles and 3-3 in doubles at the tournament.
