Lobos Lose Friday Series Finale at Nevada

by Allison Weiss

RENO, Nev.— The Lobos fell to Nevada 10-0 in five innings on Friday to conclude the series.

Rachael Hathoot led off with a single up the middle and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by DeNae Vasquez-Dickson, where she was left stranded. It was UNM’s only hit of the game with Macie Andrews leading off the second on a hit-by-pitch as the only other Lobo to reach base.

Nevada scored a run in the first, three in the second, one in the third and five in the fourth to enforce the run rule with the Lobos using two pitchers in the game. McKenna Guest got the ball to start and struck out the first Wolf Pack batter of the game before a home run opened up the scoring.

Taylor Snow entered in relief in the second inning and pitched 3.0 innings and also recorded one strikeout.

UNM returns home to face San Diego State in a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday with game one set for 12 p.m.
