Lobos Continue Play at PING/ASU Invitational

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The New Mexico women’s golf team continued play Friday at the PING/ASU Invitational with the second round at the Papago Golf Course. The Lobos shot 8-over during the second 18 holes and remain in 16th place among an elite field where ever team is ranked in the top 80 nationally.

UCLA and Northwestern share the 36-hole lead, each at 7-under. Baylor (6-under), Stanford (5-under) and Oklahoma State (4-under) round out the top five.

Lauren Lehigh was the only Lobo in red numbers on Friday, shooting a 3-under 69 to sit at 3-over for the tournament. Myah McDonald is the highest Lobo on the individual leaderboard at T-13th at 2-under after shooting a second-round 73. Lisa-Marie Pagliano and Annie Saechueng each shot 77 in the second round, while Maria Caparros Levin rounded out the lineup with a 79 on Friday.

“It was a great bounce-back round from Lauren today,” said head coach Jill Trujillo.

The PING/ASU Invitational will conclude play on Saturday in Phoenix.
