Lobos Finish Sixth at The Show at Spanish Trail

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The New Mexico women’s golf team concluded play Tuesday at The Show at Spanish Trail, with the final round at Spanish Trail Golf Club. The Lobos shot 8-over during the third round to tie for sixth place at the event at 18-over, which featured seven top-40 schools.

UCLA and SMU tied for the title, each at 6-under, and were the only two teams to finish under par. Virginia was third at 7-over, Purdue and Pepperdine tied for fourth at 12-over, while the Lobos and TCU tied for sixth at 18-over.

Lauren Lehigh and Myah McDonald both finished in the top 10 of the individual leaderboard. Lehigh shot a 1-under 71 on Tuesday to finish T-2nd at 4-under, to post her best finish of the season. McDonald also shot 1-under in the final round, finishing T-9th at 1-under. Lisa-Marie Pagliano shot 75 on Tuesday, while Maria Caparros Levin shot 79 and Annie Saechueng rounded out the lineup with a round of 82.

“Lauren and Myah had a super tournament,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “They played solid all week and both deserved to finish in the top 10.”

The Lobos return to action March 17-19 with the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii.
