Lobo Swim and Dive Falls at Nevada

RENO, Nev. — New Mexico picked up a relay win but Nevada won 11 of 13 events as the Wolf Pack defeated the Lobos 153-84 at Lombardi Pool on Saturday.

UNM’s other event win was turned in by Katy McCarter in the 100-yard freestyle, winning over Colette Berkenfield by just over a second with a time of 53:22.  McCarter was also a part of UNM’s winning relay time that swam the 200-yard freestyle in 1:39.72.  Jordan Foster led that relay off, going to McCarter, and then Sophia Corder and finally Linda Franco.

Maya Clise had a solid meet with a triumvarate of second place finishes, in the 1,000-yard freestyle, the 500-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle as well.Layni Andrle also turned in a second place finish in the 200-yard individual medley.

New Mexico now returns home to face Wyoming at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the final home meet of the season.  UNM will say goodbye to seven seniors in diver Kristen Hepfer and swimmers Maddie Deucher, Jordan Foster, Iryna Tsesiul, Marin Wilson, Kiana Raagas and Ola Tomaszek.
