Jhang and Hoppe Knocked Out in Round of 16
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The doubles tandem of Leonie Hoppe and Katherine Jhang will not repeat as Mountain Region doubles champions, as the pair fell in the Round of 16 to Utah’s Sara Akid and Ana Cruz, falling 8-3.
The loss knocked out UNM’s final doubles team in the tournament. Overall, UNM went 4-4 in singles and 3-3 in doubles. The team is now off until November 3-5 when the squad makes the short trip to El Paso for the UTEP Invitational.
