Lobos Go 12-4 on Day 1 of ITA Central Regionals
STILLWATER, Okla. — Day one was a heck of a day for the Lobo men’s tennis team as UNM went 12-4 on the day and advanced six players into the round of 32 on the opening day of the ITA Central Region Championships, hosted by Oklahoma State University.
Alex Maggs, Arthur Bellegy and Aram Noroozian each won two matches to advance from the Round of 128 to the Round of 32, and seeded players Arda Azkara, Georgio Samaha and Rafael Abdulsalam each won once, in the Round of 64 to give UNM six in the Round of 32.
Only the first two rounds of singles were played on Wednesday, with doubles starting on Thursday.
