English Named MW Diver of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Not quite sure what Alice English can do for an encore, but the main event this past week was pretty spectacular.  After an opening season event where English won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives in a double dual against Colorado State and Air Force in her first collegiate meet, English was named the Mountain West DIver of the Week.

It’s been a hot minute since a Lobo diver earned that honor.  You have to go all the way back to December 4, 2018 when Allyson Concepcion earned the honor.

English, a true freshman from Saline, Michigan, also qualified for NCAA Zones in the 3-meter with a 281.8 score, clearing the competition over 25 points.  English was close to doing the same in her first competition of the meet, the 1-meter, but she had to settle for the win with a 250.8 score.

English and the Lobos are back in action in a dual against Northern Arizona on November 4.
