Lobos Remain on Road at Fresno State Sunday
FRESNO, Calif.— New Mexico closes the opening week of conference play at Fresno State Sunday with a scheduled start time of 1 p.m. MT on the Mountain West Network.
The Lobos enter the match 3-1-3 overall and 0-0-1 in conference while Fresno State is 1-5-3 and 0-1-0 in conference. UNM opened the Mountain West schedule with a 1-1 draw at San José State on Thursday night following a Presley Devey goal in the 55th minute to open the scoring and SJSU finding the equalizer in the 74th minute.
Historically, UNM has faced Fresno State 13 times previously and is 7-3-3 all-time and 3-1-1 in Fresno. UNM is 3-0-2 in the last five meetings and has scored multiple goals in each of the last five matches. In addition, the Lobos are 5-1-2 and have outscored the Bulldogs 17-11 under Coach Dyche.
The Lobos have won the last two matches, 2-1 in 2021 (in Fresno) and 3-1 in 2022 (at home).
SHARE THE WEALTH
The Lobos have had seven different goal scorers and five different players credited with an assist this season.
Ellie Robinson scored the first goal of the season in the 87th minute against Texas Tech in the season opener, and Skye McMillon scored her first goal of the season in the 27th minute against Cal State Fullerton. Margaux Clarke broke the tie in the 48th minute against the Titans for her first goal as a Lobo. Brynn Boeyink scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 68th minute at San Diego.
In the match against NMSU, the Lobos had three different goal scorers all recording their first career goals. Mercedes Morris scored in the 5th minute to tie the match, Presley Devey gave UNM the lead in the 36th minute and Myah Isais sealed the win with a header in the 58th minute.
Devey became the first Lobo to score multiple goals this season when the sophomore scored against SJSU in the 55th minute.
SHOOT YOUR SHOT
The Lobos have recorded 17 or more shots in five of the last six matches with 17 against Colorado and San José State, 18 at San Diego and 19 against Northern Arizona and Cal State Fullerton. Of those, eight were on goal at San Diego and nine were on goal against Cal State Fullerton and NMSU.
UNM has had the advantage in shots in five of the last six matches (19/9 vs. NAU, 19/10 vs. CSF, 18/7 vs. USD, 15/8 vs. NMSU and 17/15 at SJSU) and in shots on goal in three of the last five (9/2 vs. CSF, 8/6 vs. USD and 9/6 vs. NMSU).
The Lobos rank second in the MW in shots per match at 15.43.
Mercedes Morris leads with five shots on goal while Natalie DeGagne leads with 15 shots. Morris and Sophia Roberts each have 12 shots on the season and Presley Devey is the fourth Lobo in double figures at 11.

Alli Davis currently ranks 23rd in the NCAA in save % (.860), 37th in saves per match at 5.29 and ranks first in the MW in save percentage and second in GAA, shutouts and in saves per match and fourth in total saves. Davis has made 37 saves this season, allowing six goals in 630 minutes with two shutouts. She has twice recorded eight saves this season (vs. Texas Tech and Colorado).
In her two years in net, Davis has made 105 saves and carries a save % of .847 and a GAA of 0.75. With her 100th save against NMSU, Davis became the ninth Lobo goalkeeper in program history to reach 100 career saves and needed just 25 matches to reach the milestone.
Her career saves ranks ninth all-time in program history and her GAA is the second best in program history.
