Lobos Looking for Strategic Plan Feedback

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico Athletic Department is beginning preliminary work on the department’s updated strategic plan, and as part of the process fans who are interested can take part in that process.  Fans interested in giving feedback on various future projects can click the link to take part in a feedback survey.

The upcoming strategic plan will be the first for the department since 2015, and the first to be developed under the leadership of Vice President/Director of Athletics Eddie Nuñez and University President Garnett S. Stokes.

The new strategic plan will build upon the previously established culture and foundation of excellence, whether on the field, in the classroom, or in the community.  Those successes are attributed to the extraordinary student-athletes, staff, coaches, faculty, alumni and supporters of Lobo Athletics, but there is always more work to be done, especially in the ever-changing, fast-moving world of college athletics.

The new strategic plan will create a roadmap for a five-year period.  The defining characteristics of the plan will be to articulate the purpose, mission and value of the department, and to define the strategic priorities that will guide UNM Athletics towards the future.  This is the plan that will guide decision-making, hold us accountable to our constituents.  It will be a day-in, day-out road map and guide for Lobo Athletics.

There is a 19-member strategic planning committee consisting of student-athletes, coaches, Athletics staff, University staff, University faculty, University leadership, and community members.  This group has been meeting and leading this initiative since March.

That 20th member of the strategic planning committee is you, our fanbase.  We value your thoughts, ideas, feedback and aspirations, and would like to hear your voice throughout this process. A survey has been created to collect information from all the stakeholders that UNM Athletics impacts.  Season ticker holders for Lobo Athletics will receive an email link to a survey to participate.  If you are a Lobo fan but not a season ticket holder that wants to contribute to the survey, please submit your name and email address here. A survey link will be sent to you directly.

Thank you for being a part of the great culture of Lobo Athletics.  Whether you are a Lobo Club member, a season ticket holder, a casual fan, or just a fan that follows along via our social channels and watch and listens to events on the TV, radio and internet, we value your thoughts and opinions.  We are looking forward to hearing from you, and building our new strategic plan to put UNM and Lobo Athletics onto a pathway for continued success

Go Lobos!!!
