Lobos Visit Colorado State Friday night in Regular Season Finale

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team will conclude its regular season schedule Friday night when it hosts Colorado State. Game time at Moby Arena in Fort Collins is 9:00 p.m. and the game will air on FS1 and the Lobo Radio Network.

The Lobos (21-9, 8-9 MW) is looking to finish conference play with a .500 record for the first time since 2017-18 with a victory. UNM is coming off a 94-80 win over Fresno State at The Pit on Tuesday night in its home finale. New Mexico is led by Jamal Mashburn, Jr., who leads the Mountain West in scoring at 19.4 ppg. Morris Udeze leads the conference in rebounding (9.3 ppg), field goal percentage (61.7%) and double-doubles (12).

Colorado State (13-17, 5-12 MW) is coming off a 63-46 loss at San Jose State on Tuesday night. The Rams are led by Isaiah Stevens, who is third in the conference in scoring at 18.0 ppg and leads the league in assists at 6.5 per game.

New Mexico leads the all-time series 78-51, but Colorado State holds a 37-26 advantage in Fort Collins, including a 26-25 edge at Moby. The Lobos won the first meeting of the season, 88-69, at The Pit in the conference opener on Dec. 28. Jaelen House led UNM with 26 points and five assists as the Lobos made a season-high 15 3-pointers.

New Mexico will travel to Las Vegas next week for the Mountain West Tournament at the Thomas & Mack Center. The Lobos will be the No. 5 seed and begin play on Thursday with a win over Colorado State and a San Jose State loss at Air Force on Saturday. UNM will otherwise be the No. 6 seed and begin play on Wednesday.
