by Steve Kirkland

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team concludes a two-game homestand on Saturday afternoon as it hosts UTSA. Game time at The Pit is 2:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast online on the Mountain West Network and on the Lobo Radio Network.

Saturday’s game will feature a toy drive. Fans can bring a new, unwrapped toy to The Pit to donate the kids in need this holiday season.

The Lobos (8-0) are one of 10 remaining unbeaten teams nationally and are coming off a 102-63 victory over Western New Mexico on Tuesday night. New Mexico has three of the top six scorers in the Mountain West with Morris Udeze (18.5 ppg) second, Jamal Mashburn, Jr. (16.4 ppg) fifth and Jaelen House (15.9 ppg) sixth in the conference.

UTSA has a 5-3 record this season and is coming off a 12-day break since a 68-62 win over Incarnate Word on Nov. 28. The Roadrunners have opened the season with seven of eight games at home, with the only road contest a 75-55 loss at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on November 11.

It is the first-ever meeting between the Lobos and Roadrunners, with UTSA being the fourth first-time opponent on UNM’s schedule this season. New Mexico has already won first-time matchups this season against South Alabama, Jacksonville State and North Dakota State.

The Lobos will travel to Las Vegas for a Monday night contest with San Francisco in the Jack Jones Hoopfest. Game time at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay is 8:30 p.m. PT (9:30 p.m. MT) and the game will be available via a livestream at SportsNetworkLLC.com for a fee.
