by Jacob Trasen

Houston, Texas – The University of New Mexico swimming and diving program is set to compete in the annual Phil Hansel Invitational swim and dive meet this weekend in Houston, Texas. The meet will begin at 10am — local time — on Thursday and continue through Saturday at the CRWC Natatorium on the campus of the University of Houston.

This is the second time in program history that the Lobos have participated in the invitational, with the first time coming in their 2017-18 season. In the first time the Lobos competed in the event, they placed ninth out of 10 participating teams with a total score of 500 points.

The Phil Hansel Invitational has historically been a 21 event meet, 18 swimming events and three diving events.

New Mexico will look to rebound this weekend from their most recent meet, a 172-120 defeat to Northern Arizona at home.
