ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team opens its road schedule on Tuesday night as it visits SMU. Game time in Dallas is 7:00 p.m. CT (6:00 p.m. MT) and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and on the Lobo Radio Network.

The Lobos (2-0) are coming off a pair of home wins to open the season, downing Southern Utah 89-81 and South Alabama 80-74. New Mexico has been led by guard Jaelen House, who leads the Mountain West in scoring at 22.0 ppg and in assists at 7.0 apg. Jamal Mashburn, Jr. is averaging 20.0 ppg as UNM is one of five teams nationally with a pair of players averaging at least 20 per game.

SMU (1-1) opened the season with a 77-60 win over Texas A&M Commerce before dropping a game at No. 24 Dayton, 74-62. Zhuric Phelps leads the Mustangs in scoring at 20.0 ppg through the opening week of the season.

Tuesday’s game is the fifth all-time meeting between the schools with New Mexico holding a 3-1 edge in the series. SMU won last year’s matchup at The Pit, 90-72. UNM won all three meetings in the late 1990s when both teams were members of the WAC, including a 75-72 win in 1997 in the only previous matchup in Dallas.

Following Tuesday’s game, New Mexico will return home to begin a four-game homestand on Nov. 19 when they host New Mexico State in the first of two meetings of the Rio Grande Rivalry. Tickets for that contest are on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets.
