Women’s Golf Travels to Texas for Jim West Challenge
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team returns to action Sunday-Monday as it travels to Texas for the Jim West Challenge. The event, hosted by Texas State, will be at the 6,132-yard, par-72 Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos.
The tournament will play 36 holes on Sunday and the final 18 holes on Monday. Live scoring of the event will be on Golfstat.com and there will be coverage both days on ESPN+.
This year’s tournament features 15 schools, including eight teams ranked currently in the GolfStat top 50. The Lobos, at No. 33, are joined by No. 21 SMU, No. 25 Houston, No. 27 Oklahoma State, No. 31 Ohio State, No. 34 Texas Tech, No. 42 Tulsa and No. 43 TCU. Host Texas State, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tulane, UNLV and UTSA round out the field.
New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Napat “Jenny” Lertsadwattana, Lauren Lehigh, Myah McDonald, Annie Saechueng and Maria Caparros Levin.
The event is the third of the season for New Mexico. The Lobos have finished in the top three at both of their first two events of the fall, most recently at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, where Lertsadwattana won the individual title.
