Lobos Fall in Final Game at Boise State

BOISE, Idaho— Ashley Archuleta hit a two-run single through the right side of the infield with bases loaded in the top of the second to tie the game, but Boise State scored five unanswered runs to win game three on Sunday afternoon.

Leslie Romero, Briana Martinez and Reyan Tuck each recorded two hits, with the Lobos finishing with seven in the game, while three Lobos reached base on walks in Andrea Howard, Janae Cameron and Peyton Robinson.

BSU took the lead in the bottom of the first on a two-run home run, to which UNM answered in its next at-bat, set up by the bottom of the lineup.

Martinez hit a one-out single to left field followed by a Tuck single to right field. A two-out walk by Robinson loaded the bases to turn the lineup over, with Archuleta delivering on a single that got through the infield to score Tuck and Cameron.

However, the Broncos regained the lead with three runs on three hits in the third inning and added two in the fifth inning.

Emma Guindon threw the first three innings with Amber Linton entering to start the fourth inning and retired the side. Linton didn’t allow a hit in her 3.0 innings of work and allowed two runs (one earned) while struck out three batters.

UNM stands at 25-25 on the season and concludes the Mountain West schedule with San Diego State at home starting Thursday, May 12 AT 6 p.m.
