Holmes Finishes LSU Alumni Gold with Qualifying Time

BATON ROUGE, La. — Lobo track & field sprinter Tianna Holmes competed in the LSU Alumni Gold Meet in Baton Rouge, La., today as she competed against some of the best sprinters in the world and came home with a qualifying time.

She ran a time of 52.89 seconds in the 400m dash, which puts her at 38th on this season’s NCAA Division I Qualifying List. This time beat her previous best this season of 53.28 by .39 seconds. Her time was fifth in the event at LSU, behind only Gabby Scott from Puerto Rico, UCF’s Latasha Smith, Minnesota’s Janielle Josephs and LSU’s Garriel White

The Lobos will head to Standford, Calif., for the Payton Jordan Invitational on April 29, as well as Fresno, Calif., for the Fresno State Invite on April 30.
