Tiendas Finishes 27th in Platform

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — She made a heck of a run at it, but Hannah Tiendas just missed making it the NCAA Zone E Platform finals, finishing 27th with a score of 190.00.  She finished 27.3 points out of a berth in the finals, of which the top 18 qualified.

Tiendas, who was UNM’s top finisher on Monday in the 1-meter dive, had three of her five dives that scored about 41 points.  Had she had two more in that range, she would have qualified, but it still was a great finish to the season for UNM’s only fifth-year senior.  Tiendas, a team captain, was one of three divers on the squad that qualified for the Zone E Championships.

Tiendas’ platform event finished the 2021-22 season for New Mexico, one that saw UNM return to the pool after missing the 2020-21 season due to the Corona Virus pandemic.  UNM loses just six seniors from this years’ team.
